Komrad Ivan: An Introduction to your Warsaw Pact Counterpart (1979)

This pamphlet was designed to provide U.S. combat infantry men with a ready reference to key Warsaw Pact weapons and equipment. The illustrated booklet was published in 1979 by the United States Army Infantry School - Red Team and United States Government Printing Office.

It contains an overview of handheld weapons (RPK-LMG, APC, RPG-7V, SVD Sniper Rifle, SPG-9RR, 120MM and 122MM Mortar/Howitzer), armored vehicles (BMP, BTR-50P, BTR-60PB, T-62, T-55/54, BDRM-2 and BT-76) and weapons systems (FROG-7, SA-6, BM-21, SU-57 and ZSU 23-4).

This unclassified booklet is designed to provide U.S. Combat Infantrymen with a ready reference to key Warsaw Pact weapons and equipment. It is not intended to provide the user with a detailed guide yo all weapons and equipment employed by Warsaw Pact forces. Users desiring more detailed information should consult their respective S2/G2 sections.
